Optimum Performance is a community of cyclists with members of all skill levels and experiences. We train together and motivate each other in a fun, year-round environment as we achieve our cycling goals!
The Optimum Performance training center is in the process of relocating from Lancaster to Leominster! After Ten years at Orchard Hills Athletic Club, the center's new location (507R Lancaster Road) will more than double the size of it's studio space, providing for a larger training area, extensive cross-training space, private bathrooms, lockers and more!
From October thru April, the center offers Cycling Training Classes (CTC) with a range of class times including early morning, mid-morning, evenings and weekends. These classes are all coached and follow specific programming that progresses throughout the off-season. For more details on our classes please see our CTC Classes page.
When the days get longer and outdoor temperatures rise, Optimum Performance leads group rides on Monday nights leaving right from the Orchard Hills parking lot. The rides are split by average pace and typically fall in the 15 & under, 17, 19 and 21+ range. Each ride is led by an experienced cyclist and member of Optimum Performance, often times an indoor season coach.
Out athletes can be seen competing across the globe in hill climbs, time trials, criteriums, triathlons, duathons, pentathlons and more! By getting a jump on training in the off-season, our athletes are able to start their outdoor seasons ahead of the competition and progress stronger and quicker into the heart of the season.
Optimum Performance also sponsors and coordinates a number of local events including the Wachusett Mountain Hill Climb, an Orchard Hills Indoor Triathlon, the Cider House 5k at Wachusett Mountain and hopes to add additional events to their 2017-2018 calendar.
