"True coaching is the ability to take an athlete where he can't take himself."
Paul is Optimum Performance's Head Coach and program coordinator. A USAC Level III Coach, Paul realized his dream to take his knowledge and experience as a racer and translate it into coaching. His boundless energy and skill to instruct with motivation drive his classes to succeed. When you think you've hit your max, Paul will challenge you to dig deeper, get out of your mind and let your body go beyond what you thought you were capable of.
Paul is also the owner of Innovative Mold Solutions and Urthpact in Leominster, and was named as one of the Sentinel & Enterprise's Most Memorable People in 2016 for his work on an environmentally-friendly coffee K-cup that has saved more than 6.6 million pounds of plastic waste from ending up in landfills.
In work and in life, to succeed, you simply need to "GET OUT OF YOUR OWN WAY!"
A dedicated athlete her entire life, Audra transitioned from the basketball courts after college, finding new passions in cycling and running. She competes in endurance events ranging from duathlons to pentathlons and completed her first Ironman (Lake Placid) in 2018. She has completed the 48 4000' in NH and is a former ocean kayaking guide. On the bike while short and fast are always fun, she prefers long distance affairs filled with scenic vistas. "Why drive when you can ride?" Audra is married with a 5 year old son and will be focusing her upcoming training on shorter distance triathlons. She is a USAC Level C Certified Race Director, USAC Level III Coach and RRCA Race Director.
"There are seven days in a week and someday isn't one of them."
Whether it’s coaching a swim team, maxing out her deadlift, or competing in a local bike race, Amy finds much enjoyment in the world of sports. Amy entered the cycling world after finishing her career in Division 1 collegiate sports, where she captained her team and was awarded Mid East Regional All American honors. She has participated in triathlon, aqua bike and unsupported distance riding to Washington, DC and Montreal from Boston (she hopes to ride across the US someday). With more than nine years of racing experience, Amy has competed in numerous local road and cyclocross races, and, most recently, track racing in Southern California. Her favorite races are criteriums - short and fast! After a few seasons of training at OP, Amy had her best season at the age of 40 with 7 podium finishes and became a course record holder. She is currently a USA Cycling Category 3 rider, swim coach, OP coach, EMT, and most importantly, wife and mother of two.
“Age is just a number. Go get ‘em!”
Paul is a retired engineer, married with three grown children. He has been riding in the local area for almost thirty years. He raced some in his younger days, but he is most remembered for training with and supporting his son who raced road and cyclocross for 7 years. During the summer Paul is a big supporter of group rides. He typically does around four a week and is currently leading some of the rides from the local bike shop. Paul believes we have a large community of older athletes in the area and Optimum Performance gives us the opportunity to stay connected all year long.
